Internet Shopping So for Mother Leads

A study by Microsoft and Starcom MediaVest – an ad group – showed that the mother plays an important role in influencing the decision to purchase basic food from home, the little things and big things like a car.

Well, that’s interesting, it seems every purchase of goods is based on information on the Internet. As many as 58% of respondents said that using the Internet to search for product reviews before you buy.

“A mother has been a One-Stop-Shop to buy the needs of families and advertisers should be aware of this influence,” said Kenneth Andrew as the Managing Director of Microsoft Asia-Pacific Advertising Great.

The survey is based on interviews with 3,000 mothers who are distributed in China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. Respondents ranged from pregnant women and mothers who already have a teenage son.

On average, the survey found that Asian mothers spend 17 hours a week surfing the Internet. Most of them visited the site of music and video downloads, social networking sites and sites designed specifically for young children.

However, most of their activities depends on the age of their children. those who are pregnant usually will interact with other pregnant women, while those who already have children rely more on the Internet to send email and look for something else.
